Before now, so many traders suffered mining process due to the fact that it consumes alot of energy but thanks to MintCoin for providing a solution to this problem. It is a completely decentralized project that was launched on the 6th of February 2014 with it's code first built on the NovaCoin and worked with the Proof Of Work algorithm but later changed to its original code in April 2014, and it's algorithm changed to the Proof Of Stake (for the PoS algorithm is far better than the PoW in the fact that it consumes lesser electricity and is resistant to 51% attack), making MintCoin the original Proof Of Stake Coin. The MintCoin has its own currency, MINT available on exchanges like Cryptopia and CryptoExchange. It also has an ever growing and vibrant community which happens to be the determining factor of the future of MintCoin. Another thing MintCoin features is great transaction speed as all transactions are confirmed within seconds instead of minutes and this has also affected it's fees positively as lesser energy is consumed, thereby making it's transaction fee quite affordable.
The user interface of a project really matters in gaining popularity. As for MintCoin, I don't really like their interface and I guess that could be the reason why the project is yet to gain popularity. If they can work on that, in sure they would experience a massive growth in the number of their token holders.
