With Zilliqa, PoW will be applied to multiple blocks at the same time instead of just one, which both saves energy and benefits miners.
Each month, Zilliqa will need about 12 hours for total PoW operations (at the beginning of each epoch cycle), at this time the graphics card will run at full capacity. However, for the rest of the time, the graphic card will run in low power mode and the power consumption will be minimal.
Pros
- Privacy with PBFT algorithm: PBFT is the default algorithm available that will have hostile nodes in the blockchain system. From there, each node independently authenticates all transactions, resulting in the output of most of the nodes in the network, avoiding single attacks.
Cons
- Normally, the Ethereum-like PoW protocol will consist of many miners involved in a transaction, solving the algorithm, and the first to get the reward (and that transaction will become a new block in the chain). . This ensures a level of safety but is wasted by a lot of computers involved in digging for a while, but there is only one winner.
