Lamplight Replacement Oil Lamp Chimney Review

I give this product five stars for durability because it was shipped in bubble wrap and rolled around a large cardboard box with a bottle of vitamins and no other packaging. soften it. I was impressed it arrived safe and sound! It's a bit shorter than I wanted so make sure you use a ruler to ensure you need an 8-1/2 inch chimney.

When trying to put the ball on the lantern, it came loose. I was trying to tighten the metal clips that attached the sphere to the lantern when it broke in my hand. Luckily I didn't cut myself seriously, just a small cut on my thumb. The glass in this sphere is very thin, like a single layer of toilet paper. I would not recommend this product as it is easy to break. The original globe was much thicker and stronger.

I have an oil lamp that is probably 70 years old. I recently got it from my 100 year old grandfather who still lives alone. He had 4 of these and I wanted one. I remember using them for hurricanes as a kid when we weren't evacuating south LA. The whole family gathered in one house. Usually there was a power outage and we used them. When I unpacked the package I found that there was a code label on the glass that could not be removed except by piercing it with a sharp knife.
