Not as advertised

Will not fit the 1982 Volkswagen Vanagon as advertised. Do yourself a favor and save time by visiting a genuine VW dealer online.

Does NOT fit 86 Vanagon

The gas cap I received looked completely different from the picture they show. It also does NOT fit the 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon as they claim. The lock and key mechanism was basically useless.

Doesn't work with 1989 Vanagon.

Nice gas cap, but unfortunately it doesn't work with the Vanagon. The area around the fuel filler cap is embedded in the body. So when the motorcycle cap tapers towards the edge, you can't grab it. Therefore the rating depends on the quality of the cover and not on the fact that it does not fit my car.

The appearance of the gas cap is pleasant. The photo is not entirely clear, however.

Although Revain lists the Motorad MGC-787 gas cap as fitting the 86 Van, unfortunately it does NOT fit. The appearance of the gas cap is beautiful. The photo is not entirely clear, but it shines. It would be nice to touch the car. Externally it is a twin of the Stant 10857 gas cap. Handling, inspection and turning the locking mechanism is easy to see, mechanically it is not a world class gas cap. Visually beautiful but the integrity gives it a maximum of 3/5 stars.
