Car dealerships make most of their profits from car repairs, not car sales. So it's natural that they want to charge big bucks for their parts and services. My dealer recently wanted to charge me $59 to put in a new air filter! All you need is this cheap part and five minutes of your time to save big. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the four screws holding the air case (don't come all the way out so you don't lose them). Lift the case, remove the dirty air filter, replace with a new one (same orientation - note the tab), then retighten (do not overtighten) the screws. Simple, cheap and anyone can do it.
