I had the predecessor for 10 years and it still works well! So I bought this one as a gift and it works just like the one I bought from the same company/manufacturer 10 years ago. The threads are coated with wax which removes dirt/dust from your car while giving your car a nice shine. And, as the instructions say, the dirtier this boot the better, and that's true. The wax protects the car paint and also polishes chrome. However, DO NOT use this on your windows - it will make a BIG mess on them. With proper use and storage, it will last for many years.
