later I'll start by saying I'm a big fan of hydration multipliers. They're pretty much an electrolyte solution that you add to water that gives you back any electrolytes you lose during physical activity. I'm a runner and drink at least 16 ounces after every run. They really keep you hydrated and keep your energy levels up. I have used many brands in the past but my favorites have been IV fluids and Nuun. I decided to try the Hydromat and of course I will talk about that in this review. I'll start off by being a bit confused as to how much water to use to mix with the powder. The packaging only says that you need to add a pack to your Hydromat. Obviously, the company assumes that you own a hydromat. I personally haven't done this, so I had no idea what the ratio of water to powder should be. I went online and found that a bottle of Hydromat contains between 32 and 64 ounces of water. Personally, I don't drink water that quickly, so I prefer to dilute my moisturizing powders in 16 ounces of water. I figured I'd only use half a packet and added it to my regular 16 ounce bottle. My first reaction when I tried it was that it kind of reminded me of Crystal Light. I ended up trying the fruit fusion flavor and it had a very artificial, super sweet taste. I won't lie, I definitely wasn't a fan of the scent. In fact, I tried drinking it three times and ended up just pouring it down the sink. I just couldn't stand the taste. Nutritionally, the powder is largely made up of ridiculous amounts of vitamins C, B6, and B12. It also has small amounts of zinc, sodium, and potassium, but they're pretty small. One pack has 2.5 grams of added sugar, leaving you with very few carbs for fuel. If you compare this hydration multiplier to IV fluid, you'll find that it has a lot more vitamin C than IV fluid (1111% DV) and a lot less sodium if it bothers you (11% DV). IV fluid, on the other hand, contains more vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 and also contains a decent amount of niacin and pantothenic acid. The IV fluid also has 11 grams of added sugar, in case that worries you. All in all, if it weren't for the flavor of the fruit blend, I wouldn't mind this hydration booster. It dissolves perfectly in my ice-cold water, and while it doesn't have the same impressive nutritional profile as an IV liquid, it's still decent. It just has loads of vitamin C and quite a few B vitamins, plus some electrolytes that are needed after sweat loss. I wouldn't personally recommend this flavor, but I think I'd be open to trying something like Lemon Lime.
