This adapter replaces an overheat damaged, leaking, mismatched OEM thermoplastic radiator fill fitting on a 2007 Dodge Caliber. Not only does Dodge/Mopar sell the fitting itself (you must purchase a complete upper radiator hose kit), but aftermarket units are just as bad, if not worse, than the original. This, on the other hand, is a very high-quality cast aluminum block; It will not crack from exposure to excessive heat. It should be noted that it does not come with a heatsink cap, but the OEM heatsink cap will work with no issues. In addition, it does not have fastening tabs like the original socket. However, you can bypass this. This should be something ALL vehicles that have radiator fill tubes installed in the upper radiator hose will use, not a thermoplastic which I feel is unfit for its intended purpose. Stand to support the new device as it has a clip on the bottom that snaps into the mounting bracket. I used a MotoTool with a cutter to cut it in half horizontally, cut it off and then attached the aluminum outlet to it with zip ties. It looks and functions just like the OEM outlet with no risk of future leaks.
