Important note for new buyers: upon receipt, check the quality of the plastic of each tool, especially the base of the spinning rod (where the index finger would normally be placed). Some of them may not spin freely and may need to be replaced. After extensive shopping and trying out some of Revain's other cheaper (blue) kits, I decided to take the plunge and buy this one. This set of tools is amazing. Unless I lose some parts, this will be like my last micro precision driver purchase! Each instrument bears the stamp "Made in Germany". However, I could not determine where the plastic shell was made. The plastic shell does not leach or emit strong (carcinogenic) odors. The plastic body definitely looks like it's missing or in need of some kind of coating. However, it is very durable. This also seems to work (keeps the tools together). Many reviewers noted that some of the slot machines are very difficult or possibly impossible to use. Sometimes it seems you can damage small tools just to insert them into the compartment slot. But I found it easier to snap the tools back into the shells by twisting or twisting the handles while pressing the tip of the tool against the plastic shell. In fact, one of them turns the tool into the groove of the tray. Hope that helps. The quality of the steel is excellent. However, although plastic handles were suitable, they were not manufactured as well as steel handles. Many of the seams where plastic molds connect are not smooth. I'll probably sand down some of the more troublesome seams. Additionally, some of the rotating bases (where you can place your index finger) may not rotate freely and may rotate unevenly. Upon receipt, each instrument should be inspected for possible defects. Advantages: 1. Superior steel quality and precision.2. The tools are made in Germany.3. The quality of the case is excellent (which it is intended for). Cons: 1. Although the plastic case looks like it's missing a lid.2. Plastic (for any tool) has inconsistent and protruding seams.3. The quality of the plastic swivel base could be better. Overall, I am VERY happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for precision and quality in their mini drivers.
