I have noted previous reviews where I have complained about cable/connector stiffness. I haven't noticed any problems like this. However, I am a bit disappointed with the port coverage. I don't have to touch it by hand, but the inset on the "flap" lid that secures it isn't very deep and takes a bit of effort to keep it in place to my satisfaction. The transfer speed is satisfactory and as always depends on the speed of the connection and the other storage device you are transferring to/from. I bought two, for onsite and offsite backups and iDrive mirroring. This is the first time I've bought a "protected" drive, so time will tell. The goal is always never to see it in action :). Note: not this drive specifically, just my research. There isn't much responsibility or "certification" when it comes to calling something military. Just search the web yourself. I do not want to damage this device - just warn before buying such a product.
