If this product were advertised correctly and had correct instructions in English I would give it 5 stars for both quality and give for the price. As mentioned in the title above, there is no mention on the label that Ives is a supplier of quality equipment. And a brief installation guide addresses the issues listed in the reviews below. The plate is thick enough solid brass with just enough mounting holes and brass screws for quality work. The screws are brass oval head sheet metal screws and the plate has a defined front and back. Hold them sideways up to the light, the front side holes are slightly countersunk to partially accommodate the oval head. A /64" bit instead of the recommended 1/16" bit makes installation easier, especially on solid base and side panels of a metal or polymer urethane core entry door. There is also no mention of removing the thin plastic case - I had a few scratches on the surface of the leather which when removed reveal an unmarked mirror finish to the brass.
