Also, a corner of my footrest was bent. As for the solid brass, I called the toll free number listed on the Schlage package and the woman told me it wasn't solid brass. The description said US but when I received the package it said MEX. No matter where, this seller needs to revise their description. Thanks very much!

Unfortunately I had to return the 1st as they sent me a used one with signs of wear and scratches. Don't take that. The replacement was new with a cellophane coating on the brass which you peel off after installation. It decorates the door well and hopefully the brass can be polished. The previous one on the door was brass plated and could not be refinished.

This is a great product - comes with brass screws - even two extra if you lose one or two and looks great. After sanding my front door, restoring it and applying several coats of exterior polyurethane, the brass trim was the perfect finishing touch to keep it looking like new. In fact, installing the stand took less than five minutes and was the most rewarding part of the project.

Our front door was starting to wear down along the bottom panel so we bought this panel to hide that area. That did a great job! As mentioned in the title above, there is no mention on the label that Ives is a supplier of quality equipment. And a brief installation guide addresses the issues listed in the reviews below. I was manufactured by Schlage. The holes are pre-drilled and include mounting screws. Not thin or fat. It is very difficult to remove the product from the packaging and you will likely tear the box in several places. Sticky glue was the main cause of packaging problems. Also, the baffle plate was removed and found to be in perfect shape. Don't over tighten the bolts as that would dent the metal and having seen some of my neighbors have skid plates on themselves it makes a huge difference in…
