I'm usually the kind of person who buys an Otterbox Defender to house my new phone. I'd rather spend $50 on a case than a $125-$250 insurance premium. I know I'll give it up, I know I'll break what I've taken for granted in life (although I've never really done it). Considering the S7 Active is already beefed up in terms of drops and drops, I was willing to compromise a bit in that case. Enter this case (in black, of course). Possible Complaints: The screen protector has a recognizable repeating star pattern that is visible in the reflected light when the screen is off. I'm not sure what the train of thought is on this, but I don't notice it when I'm using the phone. The case is not very susceptible to repeated removal and reinstallation. This is best suited for a "set it and forget it" application. The case doesn't have the typical design I'm used to from the Otterbox Defender. In this case the body consists of two parts. The phone falls onto the front bezel and screen protector and then onto the back bezel and back plate (it's all one piece. The rubber bezel snaps into a groove on the front. When this case is removed and re-attached it will stretch rubber and increase the likelihood of a separation attempt. After the first 3 removals I realized what was wrong with the case and since I was only removing it to regularly clean (somewhat , which I expected from everyone. Cases with built-in protectors). , 6 months old, fell, tripped, fumbled, and otherwise abused No visible damage from everyday hazards Definitely worth $20 so you don't have to worry about being clumsy.
