KNIFE FIGHT - Trident vs. Ninja vs. Global

If you buy high quality knives and treat them right, you will never need to buy knives again. I know this because I didn't really need this knife, I just wanted a Santoku. I didn't have one of those. Now I do. Does Ninja's Foodi brand hold up against the best?I'm pitting this one against the Trident set I've owned for over 20 years and a couple of Global knives I've owned for just as long.FEELTrident - Feels amazing in your hand. Has a nice solid weight. Was built to last.Global - Feels good in your hand. Has excellent balance. Hasn't held up like the Tridents, but it's been 20 years. It still gets the job done.Ninja - It's the lightest of the three, but if feels good in your hand. The blade is high quality, but not as heavy duty as the Trident. It might be on par with the Global.BUILDTrident - beyond solid. After 20 years, very little signs of breaking down, and any signs there are, are more related to misuse and abuse, than to lack of quality.Global - Incredible. Unlike the Trident and the Ninja, they are a single piece of metal. The blade has some chips, but so do I after 20 years.Ninja - I can't find any thing to complain about. The build is excellent. I've used knives that cost twice as much that were of lesser quality.VALUETrident - You get what you pay for. They cost a lot, but after 20 years, show no sign of failing.Global - More glam than function, but they've still lasted 20 years.Ninja - From what I can tell after using them - they have the potential to be a better value than the other two. You can get the entire set, plus the Ninja Foodie sharpening system for less than I paid for the Tridents 20 years ago. It looks like you can't go wrong with the Ninjas.
