I was very hesitant to buy a dehydrator. I've wanted one for so long, but didn't want to leave another kitchen gadget in the basement. In the end, the price made me buy it. I checked out Kohl's and other places and Revain's was at least $15 cheaper. I've looked everywhere and found this to be the best price. It is lightweight and very easy to clean. I hand washed everything with no problem. I'd call it fallacy because there's a switch to turn it on and off and that's it - easy as pie. It is easy to assemble and can be touched during use - its appearance practically does not heat up. I got this last week and just jerked it off and it was amazing. It has a slight hum. I would compare it to a popcorn machine. It gives off a flavor and we could smell it upstairs all night while the jerky was cooking (10 hours total). The jerky was a hit and now my husband is more than happy I bought it after trying the finished product. I got this mainly for making dried fruit and look forward to trying it out. For the price I find it a bargain. I would recommend this to anyone interested.
