My job was to put 5 bikes on the roof of my van. I bought this mount and a dual mount from another manufacturer. The dual mount was more than twice the price of this mount (but a far cry from the fancy brand name price) but it offered a more secure mount so I bought another of these rather than two more to round it out. System. As I have 5 bikes to transport I leave this one and put it between two doubles. Not bad for the price, this mounting system is suitable for transporting your bike to a meeting point for a group ride. But I'm outfitting my car for a multi-week family vacation with hundreds of miles of driving, so I wanted something more durable, even if it meant spending a few bucks more.
