I'm kind of a flashlight / gadget nerd and have owned MANY AAA lights, but this one is the best. I love the Thru-nite as well because the low (firefly) mode is dimmer, but overall the nitefox takes the cake. It's a bit smaller diameter than the current Thru-nite, (the old version was smaller) and the diffuser is way superior. It's soft and pliable so you can easily store it on the tail end of the light until needed, and it won't fall off. The mechanism for turning on seems to be more consistent as well. The clip isn't too difficult to remove (for turning around in ball cap mode) yet stays in place. The price for the 2 pack makes it about 30% less cost wise, which is just a bonus.
