Was going to use this to create a standard OBD2 port out of my Haltech Elite2000 ECU port but before I even started the two purple wires on the end of the socket popped out . Attempting to remove the two remaining pins proved impossible without screwing in the plastic case and since it was virtually unusable at the time I decided to tug at the whole thing. Aha! Each wire came out with almost no resistance! How to quickly light a fire in the car! Most of the wires didn't even look like they were crimped, and the pins still allowed the wires to slide back in with little effort, including both crimps, not just the sheath strain relief crimp. Now if I just order a connector and a set of pins elsewhere I can use the wiring from that and make a strong crimp to keep it together properly.
