I just wanted to try a metal strainer instead of a paper strainer without much money to see if there is a difference. Turns out I could end up using my electric coffee pot to heat water to the right temperature (instead of the microwave, which can bloat) and then pour it through that filter into my travel mug. The filter is perfect for the top of my regular travel mug. It's so well made that it feels like it could be used every day for years. Also easy to clean. Great Coffee Gator! Edit 10/13/19 - I bought this in Spring 2018. A year later it still works. Good product! Edit 08/11/21 - Three years of almost daily use and it looks the same as the day I bought it. I love this filter.
