I had to drill 32 3/8" holes in 3/8" steel. I bought five packs of these bits and expected to have to use a new bit every 8 holes (roughly or less). Me didn't drill pilot holes, just punched and drilled through the steel in the center.I ran my drill press at 760rpm and applied cutting fluid before starting each hole, removing the cuttings each time (about six times per hole ).I didn't apply much pressure, just enough to turn the short steel coils. I was able to drill all 32 holes with ONE DRILL. The chisel didn't fill the last 4 holes perfectly, but I figured I'd just nudge it around to see it.The offset is damaged, but the cutting edges are still pretty sharp. Very satisfied and pleasantly surprised.
