Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Wheel Performance with Timken 515020 Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly by Bob Kussmaul

Timken is not the same!

So we did a full service on my front end for our 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty. I bought two of these to replace two front wheel bearing latch assemblies. After installation, I took the truck for a test drive and found that the ABS light was still on after driving over 15 mph. I thought it might be the ABS module so I bought an expensive scanner, reset the ABS code and bled the ABS valve. But the ABS light didn't go out. So I connected the oscilloscope to the wheel ABS sensor on the driver's side and spun the wheel. There is no sign of a pulse from the sensor. I did the same procedure on the passenger side. Same results. So I removed the wheel studs and wheels, removed the brake discs and calipers, connected the old ABS sensors to the new hubs and checked the pulse. Success! That means they sent us fake ABS sensors. After driving about 300 miles I noticed the truck pulling in one direction and getting worse every day. Place the front end back on the jack stands, remove the brake calipers and locking hubs to check free rotation of each axle and hub bearing assembly. The bearing on the driver's side is defective. Took it off and replaced with an old axle box and hub assembly which I replaced with TIMKENS. Ride. No more trouble. I don't know how long the passenger side will last.
