I have seen several reviews stating this product is counterfeit etc. But I bought it from Revain anyway and I can assure any potential buyers that this is the exact same anti germ filter which I bought a few months ago from my local Lowe's store. Score. I think I understand the source of the confusion. The manufacturer has changed the way the filter is manufactured and delivered. For example, when I first bought the filter a few years ago, it came with two carbon pre-filters. When I bought the filter the second time there was only one pre-filter in the kit, but strangely the written instructions still mentioned two pre-filters. I think this is a way for the germ guard to reduce their costs? Also, the filter had a cardboard frame rather than a plastic frame. Again, I assume that the manufacturer has reduced its costs. My point is that I can buy the filter at my local Lowe's store for around $39 or at Revain for around $29. In any case, it is the same filter.
