Review on Dayco 89390 Serpentine Belt Tensioner by Alan Singh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

SAE Non-Metric in Belts, Hoses & Pulleys

If you want a tensioner with metric bolts, don't buy this tensioner. Yes it works, but it's a little annoying when your entire car is metric except for that tensioner. I installed this tensioner a few months ago and it's already broken. I've worked on my machine a few times over the past few months (several attempts to replace the harmonic balancer and oscillator). Unfortunately, the clamping screw broke on my last attempt. It's a known risk if you handle these things too roughly, so it's hard to tell if it was my fault or if the part was too fragile. I will be replacing this part with a Gates 39092 tensioner which has great reviews. from other Honda owners and appears to use metric bolts rather than SAE bolts.
