Review on 💧 Clean and Crisp Water with Whirlpool WHER25 Reverse Osmosis Filtration by Darnell Golden

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked for 11 1/2 months - then quit.

This product was installed by a professional plumber, so there will be no unexpected problems. Has worked well for 6 months. We changed the pre-post filters as the average filter should last about a year. Then, around mid-February, the water stopped flowing—there was no more filtered water. Own water supply plants; a knock on the boost pressure is heard, which indicates a good water supply to the system. The tank was empty and we made sure to increase the air pressure in the fill tank back up to 7lbs as it didn't even register 1lbs. We even changed the middle filter (reverse osmosis) and no luck. I tried to fill out the online form but kept saying "No model number" - very frustrating: I tried WER25, WER-25, WER255, WER-255 (actual model number on the cover of the device), so I sent an email notification. found it on the whirlpool website - no answer. Apparently this form and their website is only for larger devices and not for this reverse osmosis system. So we called the Whirlpool toll-free number listed on the manual's cover. Was instructed to change filters when they reach the point of not letting water through, very delicate. Pre/post filters have no actual filtering (and a few lines below the pre-post labels it says "Post" again, which is even more confusing) - only the middle filter has filtering. I used another site for filters. After changing them, we work again. As far as I can see, pre-post filters appear, although a few lines down they say "publish", which matches both pre-post sockets. I wish there were clearer instructions in the brochure as that would reduce the confusion and the numbers under the paragraph of text on the filter labels are different further adding to the confusion. Better written instructions will clarify much of this. But overall it's a good system.

Cons
  • Slightly torn
