It really is a "BEAST "

Blacklight UV from fluorescent has always been one of my favorites, but it operates at around 380nm (slightly below the visible spectrum around 400nm). This flashlight operates at 365nm, which is much farther from visible light (have you ever seen CSI?). This isn't the flashlight you want to buy if you want to believe your house or bathroom is actually "clean"! It will show you some very scary things (including places where your beloved pets had an accident that previously went unnoticed)! However, it will also show some very interesting things, like how things look at completely different wavelengths of light. Just combing the gravel in your driveway or combing the beach at dusk or after dark can reveal some "glowing" things. The flashlight's lens appears black even when it's on, except for three faintly visible purple dots, which are LEDs doing their thing. thing (DO NOT LOOK AT IT IMMEDIATELY!, as with a laser), shine it on your hand, you can easily feel the heat of the almost invisible light. The UV output is amazing to say the least, normal black light fluorescent lamps have nothing to do with this thing. No, this is not an advertisement. I'm just thrilled with the product itself. The inner geek is filled with pride and satisfaction. Next time we go on a trip and stay in a hotel, shop for bric a brac/antiques etc, this will happen to us! It was a bit pricey for a flashlight, but these are the "tactical" flashlights from Streamlight and other brands that operate in the visual (glare) spectrum.
