Excellent light, nice lighting modes

I have this light and Taz1200 Light & Motion. Both are very good flashlights - much brighter, longer lasting and lighter than the old halogen headlamps that required external batteries. The mounting interface on this light is durable; probably better than the L&M mount in that regard. Light modes are also good: Strobe, Low Steady, Low Steady, Medium Steady, and High Steady. There is also a flashlight mode that has a longer runtime. Charging is via mini-USB (instead of the smaller micro-USB). It comes with a cord so it's ok I think. But these days I prefer Micro-USB since many of my devices use this form factor. I haven't exhausted its runtime in medium mode yet. Medium should get something around 2.5 hours. On a road bike, that would be about 35 miles of overnight riding, more or less depending on the terrain and rider. My nightly fitness runs are typically around 25 miles, so that's enough for my needs. In high-performance mode, it ends before the end of the ride. But the typical strategy with driving lights is to use them in low or medium mode and crank them up to the max on short but intense downhill stretches. But even at low brightness there is enough light for city traffic. And at low levels it will outlast the longest of my journeys. I also like the strobe over solid mode. In this mode, the light stays in dim mode but flashes brightly a few times per second. For me, this mode is most comfortable at dusk when a bit of light is useful, but it's also important that it's clearly visible to the driver. During the day I would only use the flash mode, but at dusk the combined mode is excellent. Cygolite seems to make good products. I also have a couple of HotShot taillights from this brand (HotShot 100 and HotShot Pro 150). So I expected nothing less when I picked up this fixture. And it fits my needs perfectly.
