A standard is a mark that should be used.
Dropped them in my Buick 455 and they were almost perfect, .018 inches. Adjustment requires a shutter timer as you cannot obtain a feeler gauge to pre-adjust this design without much difficulty. Quality part, not the cheap aftermarket ones you find at your local parts stores, the pads are a perfect match.
