I read other reviews about it before deciding to buy it. They almost let me pass as they only talked about removing a piece of cork, after all you can do this with a colander you probably already have in your drawer. But after reading the product description, I decided to give it a try. My tests when it arrived were very simple: I filled an empty bottle with clean water and then measured how long it took to empty it when it was completely upside down. Then I repeated the test with the filter installed. The time difference is calculated for a screen size of 25 µm, which corresponds to an opening between a 0.001 square inch grid. this is enough to remove nearly 100% of the deposits normally present in house wine. Remember to rinse with water between bottles.
