It's true the drawer doesn't slide out all the way. It seems to stretch a little more than halfway, but I haven't measured it. That's not a deal breaker for me. I can slide things in and out fairly easily. It depends on what you want to put in there. Keep in mind that this shelf is not deep at all. Items must be less than 1U thick to fit in the drawer. Overall satisfied given the limitations of the box. There are "cutouts" on the back of the box. I removed one so I can put the charging end of the charger into the box which then connects to a very thin charger.
