LG Fixed Depth Gauge Fridge

So I bought a used LG Depth Gauge Fridge from a guy on sale. It was in his garage because he was renovating his house. He told me it worked fine but when I got home and turned it on it caught fire but wouldn't cool down. The compressor turns on for 5 seconds and then turns off. After watching a few YouTube videos I figured it was the starting solenoid valve, minus that part. An official LG OEM part costs $122 and has a much fancier name. I disassembled my old one and there are all sorts of electronic components in there. Definitely, as another reviewer said, if your part looks like this then it will work. It doesn't matter what brand or model it is. I just checked that the L and N terminals (line and neutral) are getting 120VAC to see if the compressor should have activated. Since this was not the case at the time, this part had to be replaced. Put a new part in, hooked up the existing condenser to it, hooked up to the compressor and hooked up the fridge again. Now everything works fine. Fridge but probably got a bad deal for not working. I had to get him to plug it in and come back 3 hours later to check the freezer was 10 degrees. I really doubt that an electronic component broke on the way home. Luckily I was able to fix it. I would like to thank the other reviewers who referred me to this part and helped me make the right choice to fix the issue.
