Review on ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Enhanced Navigation with Garmin eTrex 20x: Your Ultimate Navigator by Anastazja Skorek แ Œ

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

I use the second year. Before that, I used a smartphone, it was a tin, compared to a navigator. Happy with the accuracy. I hid a basket with mushrooms in the forest, put a mark in the navigator and went to pick up the second one. Returning home, I went out to a hidden basket, with an accuracy of 1 m. I lost a knife, found it along the track. In automobile mode, he drove the car into the forest along the dirt road. At 100 km/h, the map holds the route. Consumes batteries economically. I bought 2100 mAh batteries, two sets. A spare was never needed. The set is enough for several trips for mushrooms. Ease of use. In the process of use, I removed unnecessary data from the navigator's movement counter (average speed, maximum speed, etc.), replacing them with my tasks - time of day, distance to the point, time of arrival at the point, etc. From the experience of use, I recommend to those who goes for mushrooms, do not try to use the compass pointer in the forest, but walk on the map, according to the location indicator, because The compass direction indicator is very slow at low speed. The compass can only be used when it is necessary to walk without stopping. To fully use the navigator, it is desirable to have a computer. Then you can download maps, incl. headquarters, through SAS Planet and edit your routes and waypoints through BaseCamp. Working with cards is very easy and simple if you study the above programs. If there is no computer or desire to work with cards, then it is better to take Etrex10, it will be cheaper and easier. I recommend storing waypoints in the built-in memory of the navigator, and maps on SD, tk. It seemed to me that if waypoints are placed on a memory card, then navigation slows down a little. A year ago, I left a not very good review about the navigator (I donโ€™t remember under which nickname and where). Now, having experience of use, I changed my mind for the better. I would put it "excellent" if he scrolled the cards more cheerfully and blocked the joystick. But he does his job 100%. I recommend.

Pros
  • Reliability. Accuracy. Satellites catch even from the apartment. Holds the battery for a long time. Ability to install maps of the General Staff. Work with maps, points and routes on the computer, their preliminary preparation for loading into the navigator. Convenience, simplicity and clarity of use (friendly interface). ating built-in TOPO maps.
Cons
  • Slow map scrolling (weak processor). Lack of joystick blocking (eliminated by turning on the "motion counter" option or buying a branded case (high price)). The high cost of branded accessories (I had to order a silicone case on Aliexpress).
