I have had and used many scanners over the years. Some are worth thousands of dollars. But I can say with confidence that POP is the best bang for your buck. There are many uses for a 3D scanner, but I scan heads and 3D print them in resin. This is a great way to commemorate friends and family. The scanner itself is very solidly built and solidly processed. It comes with a stand and tripod that work well in most environments. As far as I know, most of the data processing takes place in the POP scanner itself. In the past, with my other scanners, I needed a powerful computer with lots of RAM to perform a scan. This does NOT apply to POP. I've used it on both desktop and laptop with the same great results. You can also use it on iOS and Android devices and completely replace your computer! But a great addition to scanning on the go! (I haven't tried that yet). Scanning people can be a challenge for any scanner. Here are some tips for using POP. You can add baby powder to people with very dark hair to help the hair scan properly. For the best scan, hold the scanner in the Excellent position away from your subject. Move slowly and methodically. I try not to overlap the scans too much as this can soften the details of the face. As you can see from the two images in this review, if you take your time and follow my instructions, you can actually get great facial detail. Overall I am very impressed with the detail of this little scanner. And you can't beat the price/high detail. If you are looking for a scanner, this is it!
