Strong magnets, look good, work great

It amazes me that some reviewers think the magnet in this holder is weak! Try before installing. You will have a hard time separating the two magnets! I can only imagine that they somehow installed them incorrectly, maybe not aligned or maybe even with a door magnet touching the side of the wall unit. My 100 year old house has carpeted hardwood floors, so just laying them is not a problem. I don't have to worry about the drywall, I just place it on the floor or baseboard and then open the door and mark where it meets the stop. They are designed for our double doors leading from the kitchen/dining area to the private or guest area so the doors only open about 2/3 of the way and are held firmly there but are easy to grab and close when needed. desired. We have spring loaded doors in other parts of the house but I wouldn't put a magnet holder on them as the spring is very strong when they are fully open and even those strong magnets will have a hard time keeping them open. .I am very satisfied with their strength, appearance and ease of installation. I would NOT mount them on a spring door or where they are anchored in unsupported drywall, but they are perfect for my applications. Use your common sense and you will love them.
