I needed to replace the splitter I used while at work - I used it so I could connect my laptop to monitors and use windows to windows over the ad to open. It simply reflects the signal from one source to a second source. Now I use it to split the signal from my cable box to mirror the screen onto a second TV in the next room. Works great, compact and unobtrusive. For this app you will also need an app for your phone or tablet to control the set top box remotely (via a wireless connection), otherwise you will need to go to the location of the cable box and change the channel etc. with the remote control provided by your cable provider . .Frontier has such an application, do not know how other services. For us the perfect solution.
