Excellent monitor - happy I bought it

Like everyone else here, you're probably doing tons of research and watching YouTube reviews on this monitor. It looks like there were some issues in the summer 2020 reviews that the firmware fixed. I bought in January 2021 and updated the firmware to the latest version and this monitor is perfect. The PROS-240hz is great and it is obvious why you are looking at this monitor on this page. Currently there is no competition in the 240Hz 1440p market - the VA panel is very well made by Samsung. VA panels are generally not well executed by other manufacturers, but Samsung has been using VA panels for its TVs for a long time, so they have eliminated all the shortcomings. The color was great from the start, small tweaks made it perfect. .-The curved screen helps me focus on objects in the corners and at the extreme edges of the screen. 27 inch is a big monitor, if you go from 24 or 25 to 27 you probably have a transition to 27 and the curve definitely makes a difference. "No ghosting issues," says the Revain review. It had serious issues, but I didn't have them on this monitor. I had it on previous monitors so I know what it is. Maybe he just has a bad monitor or the firmware isn't updated. Don't let that put you off about this monitor - Was on sale when I got it for $599 and have spent a ton of awards on it too. A good deal for me at the time CONS - The curve annoys some people, it looks silly but I've liked it for almost two months now. later. I won't know until you try. Free returns with Revain so worth a try IMO. Reportedly HDR not bright enough for some people? I haven't had this issue but most of my games don't support HDR so it wasn't a problem for me - Firmware MUST be updated before use - Price? s, I like to spend money on it. - The back cover is thin, some people broke it by inattention. I knew that was going to happen so it wasn't a problem. -VA not IPS? I had no complaints about image quality or performance. COMPUTER USED Di9-10850k @ 5.0RTX 3090 Evga XC3Corsair Hydro X Cooling 32GB 3600MHz All M.2 NVMeGAMES PLAYED-CSGO SSDs are base game, noticeable difference between 144Hz and 240Hz, very smooth. -PUBG - The game is still pretty clunky but at 200fps it feels a little better lol. The $798 32-inch G7 is the same monitor, just bigger, so 1440p is more washed out. My favorite spot is 27 inches and I want the same size to fit my second monitor - the $1,400 Samsung G9 at 49 inches isn't really comparable as it's twice the price and incredibly wide. IMO, a very niche product. I have a 34 inch 1440p ultra wide monitor at work and I love it, but I can't think of anything that big. I have a powerful computer and don't see the point of running a flight sim on it as my 3090 isn't even close to maxing out the frame rate. - Dell Alienware AW2721D for $767 - it was my only real competitor to consider. It basically had all the specs I wanted, the difference being IPS vs VA and Curved vs Non-Curved. The main factor was time and the Dell was $200 more expensive than the G7 at the time of my purchase, so I went with the G7. I've been a big fan of Dell monitors for a long time (work, play and personal use). I was replacing a Dell TN 1440p 144Hz panel monitor that I bought at a bargain price from Revain many years ago. This is my second monitor now. - HP Omen X 27" for $609 - TN panel was not considered, I wanted to upgrade to VA or IPS for that price. People have also complained about the VESA mount (a requirement for me) and the matte screen I also HATE the look of the bottom bezel Will still be helpful for some to decide their next upgrade Enable G-Sync read the article on Bluebusters If you want to spend money on a good monitor, go for it to the fullest (both fullscreen and windowed modes) -On V-Sync in Nvidia Control Panel - On V-Sync in Game Settings - Cap FPS 1-3 fps below max monitor refresh (in this case 237)
