
This device is a godsend for us GM owners with AFM/DOD. I had intermittent issues with the bank 4 lifter getting stuck in 4cly mode after a fall. It will sort itself out in the end, but I knew it would fail. To prevent a complete failure I needed a way to prevent the elevator from falling. So I had to find a way to prevent the engine from going into 4 cylinder mode. There is a trick, you can put your truck in 3 mode instead of D (Drive) and it will stay in 8cly mode. There is also Range or Diablo. the route both OBDII plugins offer to prevent AFM from being triggered. But they both cost $250 to $500. I finally found this and figured it couldn't hurt to try it for $120. If that doesn't work, at least Amazon has my back. Thankfully it works and keeps my truck running 8 cylinders. I didn't notice a big change in fuel consumption. It's part of sanity to know that the elevator won't get stuck, and it will give me some time before I can climb into the engine and completely remove the AFM/DOD.
