Our cat, like many cats, usually rejects the things we buy him in favor of the box they came in. However, that winter we noticed that he was often annoyed and yelled at us for reasons we didn't care about. Obviously - this is not food, not water, not caresses. nothing like what he normally wanted. After all, I thought that maybe since he's older he gets a little uncomfortable when it gets colder or rainier. I thought maybe he would feel better if he had something warm to cuddle with, but I worried he would never use it. one, and when we brought him home I put him in the corner of the living room he claimed was his. I confess that I totally cheated on the first day. I took out his favorite catnip "soothing concoction" and sprinkled it on the pillow so he would at least TRY to get on it. At least it got him stepping on her. It took him about twenty-four hours to give up. Maybe less. Apparently, the allure of that magical warm spot was enough to quell a natural desire to show no interest in anything bought for him. Now he's there all the time! It became one of his favorite sleeping spots by default. He enjoys it so much that when he steps on it, he often seems to forget where he was actually going and just stands there, at first as if he's going to keep walking, but that quickly turns out to just be on one instead sitting cushion. Whatever he has on his agenda is rarely as important as the warm spot when he feels it again. There's no more mysterious crying and fidgeting (we're back to standard requirements) and he's more playful again, so I suspect he's actually just feeling that very related pain when your joints aren't as young as they used to be . be. He's a lot happier, we're really happy he's more comfortable and overall it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made. A little note on cleaning: The cover closes immediately and can be washed. The fur also comes off surprisingly easily for something with a fuzzy texture. It's also good at waterproofing. He tested this when he drank a lot of water and then decided he needed to remove the hairball. I would say it was a decent test of how washable the rug is. It doesn't seem to wear out any worse. I rarely say "just buy" for a review. But honestly, if our cat takes it and she hasn't given us any problems for a few months, she should be on the short list of purchases I don't regret at all. He loves it, he feels better, he actually uses it, it's not expensive at all. I don't know how much more to ask.
