Review on Dorman 38448 Door Striker Bolt by Billy Braggs

This part had mixed reviews as to whether it was right or wrong. I went ahead and bought the part knowing it might not work properly. One person stated that the part works properly if your door hinges aren't worn out. This was my case where I installed the door correctly but it was difficult to open. This is because the bushing size is larger than my truck. I decided to remove the bushing and replace it with a 1/2" PEX water pipe cut to the required size and it works perfectly. You can skip the buying part of this part and just use the old part , but I am restoring my truck and I wanted it to look like new.When comparing the old bushing to the new one, the bushing is oversized.
