Review on 🚗 CURT 56196 RV Dinghy Towing Tail Light Converter: 2-to-3-Wire Splice-in Solution by Robert Pearson

I bought this item to turn on a third brake light on my truck roof. Works perfectly! I only wanted to connect to the brake light on one side. This did not happen with a brake light that was only connected on one side (no output). At first I thought it was defective, but after thinking about it all night I concluded that it might need input from the left and right brake lights to turn it on and determine the correct output. It turns out that's true. After I fully connected all input cables, everything worked correctly. Very happy with this device. It has glue on the back of the box and I was able to attach it to the inside of the body without sight or weather. Modern trucks use the same wire for brake lights and turn signals. I believe the car's BCM is giving the bulb the correct signal to stop or turn. In my state, a truck with a third stop light cover on top must have a working third stop light to pass inspection. I recommend this item and will use it again.
