I've spent too much time buying a pencil sharpener; In the end, that's what I'm happy with. It produces a nice medium length point (on the right in the photos) with a slight concavity that exposes a lot of lead without producing a brittle point that is guaranteed to break like a long sharpener would. All mechanical parts are metal, to ensure durability, and it's easy to disassemble without tools once you need it, you can even replace the cutter without tools (assuming spare parts are available). It's pretty easy to load the pencil. However, squeezing the lever to open the clutch would be easier if there was a second "ear" to clip on. The clutch has nice thick rubber grips that hold the pencil securely without leaving a mark. I'm concerned that they might harden over time and I don't see an easy way to replace them. but only time will tell. Overall I like the sharpener and while there are certainly more popular ones I find this to be the best currently unless you have a specific need (e.g. long or short tip).
