I paid $39 for this set. Long story short, if you plan to do a lot, or want to drill something harder than mild steel, or need good quality cuts. If you only drill holes occasionally and don't care too much about how they look, then this set is a good choice of cobalt drill bits in mechanical quality from the USA. So I have some basis to compare these port freight quality drill bits, but at this price point What you would really expect What you get: Bits are not very good Grinding defects on some bits are obvious to the eye They are coated in a sticky anti-corrosive , which won't wash off even with denatured alcohol, and every bit is wrapped in foreign cellophane wrap. The case is quite decent for a budget set, but far from a true metal case. How they work: I made 8 holes in 1/4" mild steel with one of the bits, 2" total (pre-drilled with a smaller bit). The racquet came through with no chips or damage and still cuts like new (which isn't very good for this racquet, but it hasn't lost its sharpness). It wobbles and gets hot, but cuts quickly and aggressively. The cut quality is not very good. Good enough for something you can't see, but if holes are visible you probably want something better. am i satisfied As I mentioned earlier, I paid $39 for 8 bits and a case. It's less than $5 a shot. A quality set with the same dimensions costs over $200, and if you want a cobalt or titanium nitride coating then more. I think I got my money's worth and considering I very rarely make big holes and they seem to hold up I can't complain. If you do this often, or want to drill into something harder than mild steel, or need a good quality cut, or need a good metal drill index, or care about where something is made, look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you only use it to make a few holes a year, never do anything heavier than mild steel and your holes won't be visible, and don't feel sorry for an ugly tool, come on.
