Review on πŸ” D-Link DI-624 Wireless Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch, 802.11g, 108Mbps by Jacob Fish

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great - Less stuffing - YMMV

Reading other reviews I have to say that it seems like this is either a bad batch of routers, not updated firmware or something something is causing problems in them environment. The router operates 24/7, and there have only been a handful of WiFi outages in the last 90+ days. and MS Xbox 802.11g adapter. The range depends on what's between the router and the wireless device. When the microwave is on, it doesn't get a good signal on the direct path between the two devices. If the base station or cordless handset is less than a foot away, then there is interference (if it's larger, everything seems to be working fine). Xbox Live works in both wireless and wired modes. and easy to set up and use. I always have 2 WiFi devices (laptop, Xbox) connected to it and 4 wired devices (2 PCs, 2 VoIP boxes) with no problems. DLink support seems a bit lacking, but that was to ask a question about a different product, not this one. The only thing I have is that I wish it had a built in print server like the previous SMC wired router that replaced this one. This review is based on the "C" version. (1 Antenna) Router version built with firmware 2.38 and upgraded to firmware 2.42. At the time of writing this review, the beta version of firmware 2.45 is also available. I have not installed the beta firmware.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
