These screws were purchased to be used as washers to install Screen Tight to pressure treated lumber for a screened porch. Worked great. Glass head screws would distort slotted screw holes. They provide clamping force without wedging the grooves in the plastic. The only improvement might be a torx head. Soft stainless steel can still emerge from under the square drive. No problem with those smaller Red Pine screws, but it's a PIA if you use 3" socket head screws to mount the railing in harder Southern Pine. I love the Kreg Pocket Screw Jig!
