Description of πŸ”© SML C150S5 100 Pocket Screws - Stainless Steel for Enhanced Durability

Great for outdoor applications. Thicker fillet radius under the head reduces the possibility of the head twisting off. Large Maxi-Loc Head stops when it hits the bottom of the hole. Needle sharp point minimizes walking. Sharp edge of self-tapping tip drills a cleaner pilot hole.

So far so good good for fasteners

I bought these a month ago and only started using them a few weeks ago. I gave this 4 stars because I don't really know yet if they will be great or terrible in the long run. They are made of stainless steel, but what is the quality of stainless steel? There are different qualities and you have to consider the country of origin. There was also a corner that led into a 2x4 pine forest. Pine is considered a softwood. Tightened that screw and screwed another in the same spot, and he went in right…

Used as a washer to secure Screen Tight to pressure treated lumber

These screws were purchased to be used as washers to install Screen Tight to pressure treated lumber for a screened porch. Worked great. Glass head screws would distort slotted screw holes. They provide clamping force without wedging the grooves in the plastic. The only improvement might be a torx head. Soft stainless steel can still emerge from under the square drive. No problem with those smaller Red Pine screws, but it's a PIA if you use 3" socket head screws to mount the railing in harder…

Fits More Than Pocket Holes

I first started using these Kreg screws to make pocket hole hardware. With the Kreg Pocket Hole Kit, you can create pocket holes that look and work great. I quickly realized that Kreg screws are some of the best screws I have ever used. They are self-drilling, the square shank will never slip like a Philips slot or head, and they won't split the wood. For standard use (non-pocket holes), I use a custom pocket hole bit to drill a hole about 1/4" into the wood. This creates a flat-bottomed hole…
