DO NOT BUY THIS. The router could not be configured without logging into Netgear over the Internet; It is now IMPOSSIBLE to log in

Update 2021-08-24This is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I had to contact support and send documents etc to get them to unlock the device so I could login through their website to access my WAC124. Now, a few months later, the login no longer works. There is NO WAY left to contact support for help. It almost bricked the product. Too bad Netgear put out such a bad design. That also makes me mistrust other Netgear products. I have about 25 Netgear devices at home. No longer. ---------------------------------------------- - --- ------------------------This is such an unprecedented unprofessional bad design. The router/access point can only be configured if 1) I have an internet connection and 2) I can log in with a login account on the Netgear website. I've installed over 20 access points and routers, many of them Netgear, but none of them have the limit, it's such a bad design. In my case, even though I have an internet connection AND a Netgear LOGIN account, I cannot log into the router because the router was not registered under my account. When I connected to another computer and tried to register my newly purchased router, Netgear says the device was registered for someone else! That may have been because I bought it new from Revain's inventory. I was instructed to contact customer service BUT there is no phone service, no live chat service, no instant service unless someone pays extra. I had to email them and don't know how long it will take or how many turns it will take to set this thing up. This is bad. Buy other brands. Don't buy Netgear. ------ I've called you. Took 25 minutes to contact a fairly incompetent customer service representative. After much talking she told me that they should get proof of purchase that I can show but I don't want to suffer. Because judging by the interview, she's going to have to escalate it to get a transfer opportunity. Why do I want to spend so much time on this inexpensive product? Save your worries and don't worry. Even if you buy it new, you may have problems in the future if you always have to sign into Netgear to set up the device.
