Review on Sony BDP S280 Blu Ray Disc Player by Chuck Hernandez

I bought it and used it for a little over a month, mainly to stream Netflix. The Netflix interface and remote control were awkward to use. Too often streaming videos had to be paused and buffered. After I downloaded the first update, it almost completely stopped working. At the end of the Netflix show, my TV showed a blue screen even though the display on the Blu-ray said it was on. The only way to connect it to my TV was to unplug and plug it back in after each show I watched. I called support and after twenty minutes of waiting, they informed me that they were aware of the issue and were working on a fix. I asked if they had a timeline for when the new "fixed" update would be available and was told "I have no idea". Needless to say I returned it and bought a Samsung and am much happier. No more buffering pauses, so I have to assume the problem was with the Sony player and not my high-speed internet connection. I no longer buy Sony products.
