Review on Dorman 924 526 Spare Hoist Assembly by Kirt Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You have that cowboy. You will repair your OWN truck.

Great item, great price. 10 minutes installation. DON'T GO CRAZY IF YOU FIND THIS FOR USE WITH SELF TAPPING SCREWS. You get it, it's easy. Wiggle the black plastic tube off the old winch. He just pushes there and hooks a little fang. It will come straight from Take a half inch head and unscrew the two screws holding the broken one. Twist it at the end and it will come out straight. Remember how you did it. Throw it away. Unpack your new winch and note that there are no pre-threaded threads on it. Also note that the two bolts you just removed are hardened and have comfy flanged heads. Go to your workbench, put one of the screws in the nest handle and feed it through one of the holes. Note that the last 1/4" of the screw is unthreaded. This will help you get it in there so it starts to curl up relatively straight, but it doesn't matter if you're not perfect. Do it easy. Lean on it a little and start driving a bolt with a nut into the flange of the new winch. It will be a little heavy at first, then it will get easier. Wipe it up to your head and screw it off, which can be done with your fingers. Repeat on the other hole. Install it, being careful which side you want the end of the crank to go on. Don't over-tighten the bolts, brute. Put that in place black plastic pipe on this new one it fits it took me longer to write this than I did it you got it cowboy fix your truck now 2002 F-150
