This is a great, easy-to-use meter that gets high praise.

This gauge is way better than my old cheap but functional Rad Shack smut. Bought on recommendation. T corresponds with a group of experienced electronics repairers and hobbyists. Although they use high-end gauges in their work that cost many times more than this, they tell me that this (and two other) gauges do the job well and perform better than many others that cost more. It has the features I need. Although it has many features, here are the main ones. It can test capacitors (which cheap models can't). It can test diodes. It can test transistors. want. When you test something with cheaper gauges, the readings fluctuate and don't stabilize for quite a while, if at all. This installs quickly and displays a solid reading, so I don't have to guess. It comes with a pair of durable sensors with clips to attach if needed. It has a large, easy-to-read display. The probes are too big to fit and hold in small cables etc. They can short out or slip off and collide with something with a lot of current, resulting in disaster. You must get the best set immediately. That's all. Get it and you won't be disappointed. It also holds its value so well that used ones are sold here on Revain at almost new! Edit 01/30/15 A year has passed. Works perfectly. No problem. One thing I noticed after a while is that reading gets difficult pretty quickly. When I use my other, cheaper meter, the readings fluctuate and I have to figure it out in my head. This is often not a problem.
