Review on πŸ’ͺ Dorman 741-604 Front Driver Side Power Window Motor and Regulator Assembly for Ford/Mercury Models - Enhance Your Ride with Improved Window Control by Ken Arellano

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You may need this if.

So the driver's door window goes up and down fine on my 2005 Ford Escape except when I'm driving 70 on the Autobahn and the window goes down about half way and you try to raise it it gets very slow in approaching he climbs the summit and you can also hear the whistling of the wind. This has been going on for months and only occurs at freeway speeds. Sitting quietly increases normally. A few months ago I noticed that after he did it again when I stopped at a gas station the glass on the back of the door was OUTSIDE the seal/lane it's driving in! I place the window and roll it back up and it stays on track like it should. I took the door panel and inspected the drivetrain, the track it runs on, made sure everything was tightened and found no problems. This went so far that I would automatically wind the window all the way up when I pulled onto the freeway, which is not good as I like to drive with the windows down. In the end, I decided it was impossible to live like that and ordered a portion of Dorman. I installed it (make sure you go to the hardware store and buy 3 extra 10mm nuts to attach the motor assembly to the door) and like magic I no longer have this problem, works great either way I drive fast and it doesn't leak when it rains. I'm still not sure what exactly was wrong with the OG, it must have worn away allowing the glass to tip forward when air pressure was applied to it. Either way, if you're struggling with power window problems, get it!
