Review on Efficient Vent-Free LP Pilot Assemblies: Mr. Heater F270399 by Tonya Washington

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Were different in terms of heating, cooling and air quality

It was simple and correct. But it came out in 2 months, not 3 like the original. I understand that if the pilot keeps failing, the thermocouple will need to be flushed with air, and I do that every time. Something is wrong with Mr. Heater's thermocouples, and it's a design flaw. I have had 2 Procoms for 5 years and changed the thermocouple once. I've had a small Kozyworld for the kitchen, dining room and laundry room for 2 years, I blow it out every fall before firing the thermocouple and have had no problems. I got a new Mr. last fall. The heating for the living room, bedrooms and bathrooms was installed in November and the pilot/thermocouple problems started in January when it was very cold. Tried everything, then bought this and replaced the thermocouple which then failed in March. I just have to replace it before fall and am now debating which brand to buy, it sure won't be another Mr. Heather. PS this thermocouple was a slightly different design and I thought it might work better but it doesn't. In the design of the brand Mr. Heating has one major drawback.

Pros
  • House and kitchen
Cons
  • poorly thought out
